Gerik Degner, CFA
As a founding partner of Alpine Pacific Capital, Mr. Degner is active in all aspects of the firm’s operations. Prior to co-founding Alpine Pacific, Mr. Degner was a Managing Director with a boutique investment firm in Irvine, CA, leading all aspects of corporate finance and private equity investing activities. Mr. Degner also worked with Charterhouse Group as an Advisor responsible for directing transaction and execution support as well as cultivating and maintaining relationships with conventional and alternative deal sources, management teams and service providers. Prior to Charterhouse, Mr. Degner founded and managed a private equity consulting firm that worked with numerous private equity funds, including Oak Hill Capital Partners. Additionally, Mr. Degner founded and managed Cimarron Equity Partners, a micro market private equity fund. Earlier in his career, Mr. Degner worked with a division of Citicorp focused on M&A for privately-held companies in the lower middle market. Mr. Degner holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In addition, he is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute. Mr. Degner is an active member of the Orange County Chapter of Gen-Next (a private organization of executives dedicated to learning about and becoming engaged in the most pressing challenges facing future generations); and is the President of the Orange County Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

As a founding partner of Alpine Pacific Capital, Mr. Marker is active in all aspects of the firm’s operations. Prior to co-founding Alpine Pacific, Mr. Marker was a Managing Director at Montlake Capital, a Seattle-based growth equity firm, where he participated in building the portfolios of two separate funds over nearly ten years. While at Montlake he led both minority and control transactions, and was actively engaged as a board member in several of the firm’s portfolio investments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Marker was an investment professional at another Seattle-based private equity firm, lived in Silicon Valley while working at a venture-backed technology company and was part of an acquisitions team that helped build the largest full-service car wash chain the U.S. He currently serves on the boards of the Seattle Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG); the Seattle Chapter of Gen-Next (a private organization of executives dedicated to learning about and becoming engaged in the most pressing challenges facing future generations); and the King County Chapter of the National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame. Mr. Marker holds an A.B. in English from Dartmouth College.

Mr. Bergman is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated as a member of the Dean’s and Commandant’s list. He served through multiple deployments, including Central America and Iraq, and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor (the 2nd highest medal awarded in the campaign) for his actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom I.
After leaving the Service, Mr. Bergman earned his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and went on to work as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley where he advised on M&A and leveraged buyout transactions. Mr. Bergman was subsequently hired by Brinderson, a full-service EPC company serving the entire western United States, where he was responsible for sourcing and evaluating strategic acquisitions.
Mr. Bergman was then recruited to join a private equity backed environmental consulting firm, Alta Environmental, as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development where, through rapid organic growth and tuck-in acquisitions, the company almost tripled in size in less than two years.
In early 2013, Mr. Bergman purchased a controlling interest in Cadence , a distribution company targeting the power utility market in California. The company was profitable but had suffered five straight years of revenue and margin decline. With a drastic shift in strategy and tactical execution, the company saw an immediate, dramatic increase in sales and margin, growing by almost 450% in 2014 and another 40% in 2015, all the while almost doubling gross margin. Subsequently, in 2014 & 2015, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Orange County Chapter nominated Cadence for its Growth Category award, putting the company in the ranks with the fastest growing companies in Southern California.

Mr. Humphreys brings over 20 years of experience to the Alpine Pacific Capital team and has held executive and senior management positions in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, financial services and technology. Previously, as President and CEO for OutBack Power Systems, Mr. Humphreys led the successful turnaround of a $25 million global power electronics manufacturing company. He successfully restructured the organization to drive profitability and focus efforts on core business operations, including divesting an underperforming operating division and winding down a foreign subsidiary. Prior to OutBack Power, Mr. Humphreys held various executive management positions at Washington Mutual including Division Finance Officer for WaMu’s Retail Bank operation, Manager of Strategic Sourcing and Business Process Analytics, and Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy and member of the WM Strategic Capital Fund. As a Division Finance Officer for the Retail Distribution Network, he successfully led the team to develop and implement market leading performance metrics for 2,200 retail branches located across the country, representing over $5 billion in annual revenues. Mr. Humphreys provided leadership across the various retail business units: Real Estate, Network Optimization and Store Logistics. Earlier in his career, Mr. Humphreys served as an executive team member managing a $100 million private equity portfolio for a Pacific Northwest family office. His accomplishments included managing or leading over 20 direct investments and over 30 private equity/venture capital funds and acting as interim CFO for a satellite communication company delivering carrier class broadband communications. Mr. Humphreys holds a MBA from the University of Washington and a BBA in International Business from the University of Hawaii.
